Trusting God with the Present

"This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."

Psalm 118:24

It is hard to remember to live in the present, but the present is all we have; the past is gone and we do not know the future (on this earth anyway). This poem says it well and it is written by that most gifted writer," Anonymous"

I was regretting the past
And fearing the future...
Suddenly, my Lord was speaking:

"My name is I Am." He paused.
I waited. He continued.

"When you live in the past, with its mistakes
and regrets, it is hard. I am not there.
My name is not 'I was.'

When you live in the future, with fears, it is hard,
I am not there.
My name is not 'I will be.'

When you live in this moment, it is not hard.
I am here.
My name is ' I Am.' ''

Let us live each day one day at a time and forget what we have left behind!
